The Tasmanian Government (Government) intends on establishing a standing offer arrangement with a provider for the supply of a Unified Communications Interoperability Service (UCIS) for whole-of-government. The purpose of the UCIS is to connect agencies across various applications to provide seamless collaboration and communication within and between government agencies and external parties, irrespective of the specific technology. This will facilitate the uptake of UC within Government and improve communication, which will reduce risk, costs and assist agencies with efficient service delivery. The Government has existing arrangements in place for delivery of enterprise fixed telephony, carriage and calls, UC and videoconferencing. The UCIS is intended to complement these existing arrangements (there is no intention to replace existing arrangements at this time). The initial term is likely to be approximately three years, with multiple options for the Government to extend at its sole discretion.
