TenderBytes covers technology tenders from New Zealand, Singapore, and all states and territories in Australia. We publish technology tenders from the public sector, the private sector, academic institutions, and not-for-profit organisations. We have collected every technology tender since 2005 and have well over 15000 tenders in our database as of early 2011.
The Tender Market by Geography
As would be expected, the largest numbers of tenders come from geographies with the largest economies. Tenders from ACT are driven mainly from the Australian Federal Government. The table below describes the market as it looked for technology tenders in 2010.
The Tender Market – Increasing Numbers of Tenders
We have seen a steady increase in tenders over the past 3 years. The following graph demonstrates this increase – it shows the 3 month rolling average of tenders starting in 2007 through to the end of 2010. It is worth noting that while this graph trends in an upward direction, there has been a drop off in the number of Australian Federal Government tenders (due to specific initiatives – the Gershon review – and a tendency toward the consolidation of procurement processes through panel tenders).
The Tender Market – Market Segments
TenderBytes covers tenders from a range of different types of organisations. The nature of the tender market is that the bulk come from government agencies where markets are generally well regulated and require ‘due process’ to be followed when undergoing any procurement. The graph below describes the split between different types of tenders across the market in 2010.
