People First – A new direction for ICT in NSW

NSW Minister for Commerce, John Della Bosca, announced on Thursday 27th July 2006 a Government ICT Plan that sets the framework for a coordinated government-wide approach to planning, expenditure and allocation of ICT resources.

It represents a major change in ICT policy direction and will pave the way for a new and more effective way of service delivery for the NSW Government. The Plan provides a strategic framework to make better use of technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of services and systems, both within government and the wider community.

National E-Security Awareness Initiative

The Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA), on behalf of the Australian Government, is coordinating the development of a National E-Security Awareness Week which will take place in October 2006. The Initiative aims to heighten awareness of online security issues and measures across Australia and inform the public of useful websites and practical tips for safety online. Description:	The Tax Office wishes to appoint a panel of providers to deliver a range of recruitment services on an 'as required' basis. Description:	The City of Cockburn is seeking a suitably qualified, licensed and experienced cabling Contractor to supply and install approximately 4,000 metres of new single-mode, glass optical fibre cable as a voice and data link from the Principal's Administration Building in Spearwood to its Operation Centre in Bibra Lake, Western Australia. The optical fibre cable is required as a replacement for the Principal's existing 22Mb wireless (microwave) voice and data link due to an increased volume of data traffic and the need for a high-speed link between the two locations. The Principal's expectation is that the optical fibre cable will be supplied, installed and fully operational by 30 November 2006.

Tender 23 Provision of Data Capture Services for Office of State Revenue (OSR) Department of Commerce (Sydney, NSW)
Description:	SDRO is seeking a highly accurate, timely and quality data entry and imaging service. Information is to be keyed from source documents, i.e. Penalty Notices into prescribed entry formats. Currently the end to end service is provided by two separate contractors with SDRO also performing a significant component of the work.
