NEXT BIG THING AWARD 2007
INNOVIC’s Next Big Thing Award is an annual nation-wide competition to find and showcase exciting new Australian products with the potential to become the 'next big thing'. The award celebrates and promotes Australian innovation and is a key event of the Australian Innovation Festival.
INNOVIC’s Next Big Thing Award 2007 is a prestigious event attracting significant attention from the media. Cash and prizes valued at $30,000 are awarded and three major awards are presented. 21 finalists will be selected from the entries and these innovations will be on display at innovation@257, Level 1, 257 Collins Street, Melbourne for six weeks from 1 May 2007 to 7 June 2007. This exhibition will be open to the general public and will be accompanied by seminars and events for the media, young entrepreneurs and innovation community. Members of the public will be asked to vote on-line for the People’s Choice Award winner.

INNOVATIVE ACT SOFTWARE ENABLES ONLINE COLLABORATION
Australian Industry Minister, Ian Macfarlane, today announced Federal government innovation funding for a Woden company to market a unique software programme which brings multiple users together online. TASKey will receive a $336,095 Commercial Ready grant for the software, which allows people to work securely together on complex activities, over the web, regardless of their location.
AUSTRALIA RAISES FLAG AT WORLD'S LARGEST CONSUMER ELECTRONICS SHOW
Australia’s consumer technology industry and Austrade are teaming up to make their first-ever official presence at the world’s biggest consumer technology tradeshow in Las Vegas next week, showcasing nine companies under the Australia Pavilion banner. The 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being held in Las Vegas between January 8-11 is expected to attract more than 2,500 exhibitors and 150,000 attendees from around the world to check out the latest trends and developments in consumer technology.

| Description: | The Ministry of Economic Development is supporting the Business Capability Partnership (the Partnership). The Partnership is a joint initiative between public and private sector suppliers of management and business capability development services, aimed at improving the quality and consistency of these services, in order to develop the business performance of New Zealand firms. The Partnership is undertaking a project aimed at delivering a coordinated and consistent suite of assessment tools for use by New Zealand firms and suppliers of capability development services. On behalf of Partnership, the Ministry is commissioning the supply of a Platform to support the suite of assessment tools. The Platform refers to the software, hardware and any associated infrastructure or technology required to support the delivery of business assessment tools and the storage and analysis of data generated by them. |
