This Week's New Tenders (37 New)
ICT Salaries Steadily Increase
A survey of Australian Computer Society (ACS) members reveals the salaries of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) professionals have steadily increased over the twelve months to May 2006 - a trend that has occurred since 2003.
Increases in remuneration paid to ICT professionals across the twelve month period totalled 4.3% and were felt across all sectors, according to the 2006 Australian Computer Society Remuneration Survey. The Survey reported a 4.5% increase for those employed in the private sector, 3.8% amongst those in the public sector and education sector employees reported an average increase of 4.7%.
2006 Secrets of Australian IT Innovation Competition
The 2006 Secrets of Australian IT Innovation Competition (Secrets) will be the fifth annual competition to be held, and will once again be a major showcase of Australia's ICT innovation to a global audience. Winners will again share in $105,000 worth of prizes.
The Secrets competition remains an initiative of the Committee Marketing ICT for Australia (CoMICTA), a committee with members drawn from the Australian Government, state and territory Governments, industry associations and research bodies. CoMICTA members promote the competition extensively through their networks and may provide valuable advice and assistance to applicants. In 2005, the challenge for the competition organisers was to move from a totally government funded competition into an industry/government partnership where the aim of providing funding to showcase innovation was preserved. We are grateful for the sponsorship Cisco Systems, Dell and CentricMinds provided in 2005 and for their continued support in 2006. Without their support we could not provide the prizes that we do for so many applicants.
