The Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, used Safer Internet Day 2011 to remind Australians to stay safe online, especially when using social networking sites.
CONROY - 25 000 HOUSEHOLDS CONVERTED TO DIGITAL TV
The Australian Government has helped 25 000 households convert to digital TV through the Household Assistance Scheme, the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, announced.

In December 2009, We entered into a contract with Thales New Zealand Limited (Thales) to design, develop, install, operate and maintain the ticketing solution. Whilst Thales has been appointed as the ticketing contractor for the supply of most of the components for the ticketing system, AT has a number of responsibilities in respect to the AIFS. One of these is the supply and management of the Smartcard ticket stock AT has also recently entered into a Participation Agreement with NZ Bus and its supplier Snapper Services Limited (Snapper) for the first implementation of the AIFS scheme. This will see Snapper issue a proportion of cards. We will procure the supply of the balance of AIFS Smartcards utilising a procurement procedure in accordance with the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) Procurement Manual.
