Tender 08 Captioning Services for ABC Television Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Canberra, ACT)
Description:	Captioning television programs allows the audio component of a television broadcast (or other audio visual content) to be displayed as text on the screen primarily to assist deaf and hearing impaired viewers. There are two types of captioning: closed and open. ‘Open’ captions when required; appear to all viewers on videos, DVD’s and television pictures. ‘Closed’ captioning (hidden from the normal TV picture) is coded in the television signal as teletext data on line 21 of the vertical blanking interval. The “closed captions” signal may be decoded on any teletext capable receiver by selecting page 801. Closed captioning provides text for the spoken component of a program and may include descriptions of various other sounds, laughter and music. Closed captions are normally positioned at the bottom of the screen, with the text of speech appearing beneath the speaker and timed to appear with speech. They may also be coloured to indicate who is speaking.

Description:	The Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to provide services for the establishment and ongoing management of a web-based National Remote Indigenous Housing Resource Centre. Tender 15 Webinar Services Department of Services, Technology & Administration (Sydney, NSW)
Description:	NSW Industrial Relations run a series of seminars on industrial relations topics each year for private sector employers. Presenters travel to metropolitan and regional locations in the state to deliver these seminars. It is envisaged that the seminars will be delivered by a web based solutions over the internet. It is expected that this will enable presenters to reach more locations and deliver better value for the private sector employers of New South Wales. Proposals that also address the provision of tools, which project other health service activity, for example, operating theatre, emergency department, subacute, ambulatory and outpatient clinic activity, and associated services, will be considered if the PCB determines these additional tools are appropriate for use in Queensland. Annual updates of the tools will be required during the life of the contract (three years). Proposals for the provision of projection tools for different activity types will be assessed individually on their own merit. Planning and Coordination Branch may elect to enter into a service agreement and purchase tools for different activity types from different providers.
