Route Surveillance Radars (RSRs) provide radar coverage for aircraft operating predominantly in the high level airspace along the east coast of Australia known as the “J Curve” and also parts of Western Australia and Northern Australia. These radar installations use secondary surveillance radar (SSR) techniques to track aircraft for up to a range of 250NM within this airspace. In summary, the requirement is for the acquisition, installation and support of 11 new Route Surveillance Radar Systems and one Transportable Radar System. The requirement includes the provision of all supplies to install, test and ensure compliance with specifications for the 11 Radar Systems and Transportable Radar System, all required modifications to the existing radar towers and other infrastructure at the 11 radar sites, the installation and operation of the Transportable Radar System, and the provision of integrated logistic support services to ensure availability through the Operational Lifetime of 15 years. |
