Since the inception of the World Wide Web, the University’s web presence has grown exponentially and now comprises over 400 sites with well over 100,000 content items. Web content management is presently performed at QUT through a system of software tools, centralised and localised business process and corporate policy. QUT is now in a position where the adoption of a web content management system is considered to be a valuable and essential addition to this suite of tools. Among the main drivers in relation to the acquisition of a WCMS will be the ability to enable the designation of roles, responsibilities and page ownership, in regard to web content management and maintenance across the organisation and to address issues surrounding compliance and accessibility.
